One-layer thank you cards

I like to make thank you cards to put in my hostess and customer orders. Because I need to make quite a lot of these, I like to keep them simple.

What could be more simple than a one-layer card? Certainly saves time if I don't have to cut up lots of layers.

Here's my most recent thank you card:

I've used a beautiful new stamp from the "Fresh Vintage" stamp set - available as a free gift during Sale-a-bration. The colours are Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard and Old Olive. The "thank you" sentiment is from the "Teeny Tiny Sentiments" stamp set.

Markers are a great way to get lots of colours onto a one-layer card.

Simple Masking

Here's a card I made a while ago now. I used it as a make'n'take project as it is fun and easy to make.

I've used the masking technique on this card. I stamped the flowers first, then "masked them" before stamping the leaves. I made my mask out of a "post it note". This makes it easy to remove the mask and use it again.

If you'd like to learn more about masking, you can always book a workshop with me and try it out for yourself :-)

Stamps: Summer Solstice, Perfectly Penned
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Basic Pearls, Scalloped Dots ribbon (Chocolate Chip)

Back to blogging

Wow, it has been over a year since I last updated this blog! Life has been pretty busy and blogging just fell by the wayside unfortunately. BUT - I am back :-) I intend to start blogging again, not daily, but hopefully at least twice a week.

It's Sale-a-bration time right now so I thought I would start with the make'n'take project from my last couple of workshops:

I've used the new Designer Series paper which you can receive for FREE during Sale-a-Bration. Simply place a $100 order to choose it as your free gift. There are other free gifts available to choose from too. Check out the brochure HERE.

Stamps: Pretty Postage (available in the Summer Mini catalogue)
Ink: Poppy Parade
Paper: Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Accessories: Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack (another free gift from Sale-a-Bration)
Tools: Big Shot and Perfect Polkadots embossing folder, 1 inch square punch, postage stamp punch and scallop square punch.

If you would like to learn to make this card, please contact me to book a free workshop. :-)

I also made some little paper samplers so that my friends and customers can see the beautiful Designer Paper in person - it always look so much nicer in real life than the picture in the brochure. I used the Two Tags Die on my big shot as well as the matching brad and ribbon pack. These 2 pictures show the front and back sides of the sampler.

Tricycle Ride

Another scrapbook page done tonight - I am on a roll!
This one uses some retired DSP that again, I will be sad to see the last of - lots of great spots and stripes for boys. However, next on my list of new DSPs to buy is the fabulous "Celebrations" on page 125 of the current Idea Book & Catalogue. Its got lovely blues, red and green in spots and stripes too.

I've used some Alphabet stamps to spell out the title for the page and some buttons for a pop of colour.

Meeting Elmo

Another layout for you. This time I used a sketch to help me design it. I think I will be using sketches more often - it really helped me this time. I was so stuck on what to do with these photos. I initially wanted to make a punch art Elmo but I just couldn't make it work on the page. I somehow ended up using the Greenhouse Gala papers and I think they work well. Crumb Cake (formerly known as Kraft) is a great colour for the base of the page. It just goes with any colours and work well if you are too lazy to cover or colour your chipboard letters! LOL!

Some more scrapbooking

I've got so many photos of my boys to scrapbook so I'm on a mission. My other mission is to use up all the bits and pieces that are "retired" and taking up space in my craft room. As a demonstrator I try to only use "current" products as much as possible but we all have a stash piling up that needs using so I am putting my stash to good use on my personal scrapbooking projects. :-)

I'm so pleased with the Hop Skip Jump layout. :-) I never thought I would use that paper on a boy's layout but it works perfectly with the faded red (pink!) of the stepping stones!
I'll be sad to see the last of my spotty paper from the Good Morning Sunshine collection. The colours go so well with so many of my photos of the boys. I've still got another double layout to do of Toby's birthday (family party) but have to print the photos out first. I plan to use some more Good Morning Sunshine on those pages too.
I did use something new on this LO though - the Builder Wheels! I used them to make a strip along the bottom of the page. I've been giving my Circle Scissors a bit of a workout lately too - love that tool!

A bit of scrap booking

I don't know that these pages will be inspiring anyone very much but I'm pleased just to get some scrapping done! So many photos of the kids to catch up on so am keeping it so so simple and I'm working on using up all my "old" stuff - you know all those lovely papers you've got sitting there waiting to be used - well I'm just using them up as much as I can!
