Nailed It Birthday Card with money pocket

I made this card for my brother's birthday this week.  The Nailed It Bundle was PERFECT because not only is he a tradie, he's also building a shed at his place and I wanted to give him a gift to help with that.  I decided to give him cash so that he can get exactly what he wants for the shed.

It was really fun to play with the stamps and dies to create the tools on the font of the card. I used Silver Foil paper and some plain cardstock. I stamped the images with Staz-On ink because the Silver Foil paper is shiny and Staz-on works great for that kind of surface.

The money holder on the inside of the card is simply a rectangle of DSP just folded at the edges and glued into the card to create a pocket.

I've also used stamps from the B.Y.O.P. stamp set - buy your own present!!  If you tend to give cash and gift vouchers as gifts, you need this stamp set in your life, its just perfect for that.  Not just for birthdays either, it covers many other occasions.

I always love to decorate the envelope to match so I stamped the little nails stamp with Basic Grey ink.  Fun!  See below for a list of products I used. You can even click on the items to purchase them yourself!  If you'd like to receive free products with your online order, please contact me so I can help you.  If you are purchasing today or tomorrow (Feb 27 or 28) you can use this code at the checkout and receive a free gift from me: PXRPVQSQ

Freshly Made Sketches 275 - Lift Me Up

Hi friends, a quick card for you today.
Whenever I'm stuck for an idea, sketches are a fun way to get the creativity flowing.
Today I've made a card based on Freshly Made Sketches 275.

I've used the Lift Me Up Bundle for this card.  It's such a fun set.
The colour scheme came from the Party Animal Washi Tape.  Nice bright colours.

Valentine's Day Treats

Valentine's Day - its just not as big here in Australia as it is in other places like the USA where little gifts and cards are given out to lots of people, not just your spouse/partner.  I do love making little treats though - so here are some little Curvy Keepsakes boxes filled with chocolate - a perfect little gift fro a friend or co-worker.

The paper I used is the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack.  The 6x6 sheets are just the right size to fit the Curvy Keepsake Die.

I only recently purchased this die and I don't know why it took me so long!  Its fantastic!  The box holds itself together at the top without the need for any adhesive. The only adhesive you need is at the bottom to join the two halves of the box together. It is SO simple! Love it.

For my lovely husband, I purchased some chocolate and created a slider box to house it in.
I've used the same Sending Love DSP, paired with Real Red card stock, Silver Foil paper and the gorgeous Silver Metallic Ribbon from the Sale-a-bration brochure.

Beautiful You with simple paper piecing

Hi friends,

Here's a simple card for you today.  Everyone is just LOVING the Beautiful You stamp set! It's so versatile. There a lots of techniques you do when you're using it - basic stamping, embossing, water colouring, paper piecing etc.

I'm also loving the gorgeous Stitched Shapes Framelits - they just add that little extra layer of texture without any extra effort.

To create this card I simply stamped the dancing girl image onto designer paper and cut out the dress and hat.  Then I stamped her onto the square, and then glued the cut-out piece over the top.  Easy-peasy!

Adhesive tip for intricate dies

Hi friends,
I have a cool tip to share with you today!  Do you ever have problems with liquid glue squirting out form underneath your card stock when you've used a tiny bit too much?  Here's a way around that problem! :-)

Big thanks to Brian King for the card design inspiration too. I love his clean and simple style.
