Beautiful Peacock Sale-a-bration stamp set

Hi there friends,

I had a lot of fun making a whole bunch of these peacock birthday cards. Aren't the colours just so much fun? I used a sponge dauber to add Bermuda Bay ink on top of the Lemon-Lime Twist I had already inked the tail with.  This gives a really neat two-tone effect.  It's a multi-step stamp set, so you need to line up the body of the peacock into the space in the tail.  Thank goodness it's a photopolymer (see through) stamp set, to make it easier for placement.  Actually, I used the up-coming "Stamparatus" tool to help me get  it just perfect.  This tool will be available for purchase in June :-)

If you'd like to make one of these cute cards and try out the "stamparatus" you can join me for "coffee and cards" class this Thursday 25/01/18 at 10am.   You'll just need to call or email me (stampinwithbec@me.com) to let me know you are coming so I can prepare enough materials for you.

I think we might have to have lamingtons for an early Australia Day morning tea ;-)

Memories and More Colour Theory Class

I'm teaching a new style of class this year - Memories and More.  Just as the name suggests, the class includes scrapbooking and "more" (the "more" is card making)  It will be held on the last Friday of each month.

Stampin' Up! has a great line of products called Memories and More and they have created it to coordinate perfectly with other products in our range.  You can use the Memories and More packs for traditional scrapbook pages, pocket pages and cards - and probably a few more things too if you use your imagination!

The cost for this class is $30 and that includes a full pack of Memories and More cards (RRP $17.50 and the left overs after class are yours to keep) and all other supplies required to make the scrapbook pages and cards.  All you need to bring is your basic kit of adhesives.  I will need your RSVP and payment early enough for me to order your Memories and More pack to book in ASAP :-)

There's a morning session at 10am and an evening session at 7.30pm, both on the 26th January.
I know it's Australia Day....its just how it worked out for this month - hoping it actually means lots of you have the day off work and can come along! ;-)

Here's a look at what we will be making, however this class is so easy to personalise and change the colours.  There are 4 main colour options in this particular pack so your pages could end up looking totally different to mine!  It will all depend on the photos you bring and your personal preferences for colour.  You could bring along photos from a variety of occasions, this pack cover all the 4 seasons of the year in colour and themes.  I've used Spring and Summer here but there's also blue tones for Winter and green and brown tones for Autumn.

If you can't make it to the class but you'd like to recreate some of these projects yourself at home, here's a list of some of the products I've used:

Picture Perfect cards for my 1000 club

I love to recognise and reward my team of demonstrators and one way of doing that is our 1000 Club.
Each quarter I look up who has done 1000 CSV (Commissionable Sales Volume) and send them a card and little gift.

Here are the cards I sent out for the Oct-Dec 2017 quarter.  I used the new Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue and some bright, funky colours.  I hope they liked it!

Heartfelt Blooms in Black and White

Each month I send out Thank-You cards to the lovely people who have purchased from me.  Here is the card I sent out for my December customers.  I used the brand new "Heartfelt Blooms" stamp set which is a FREE item during Sale-a-bration.  I put it together with some retiring items from the Holiday Catalogue - the Designer Series paper, black crochet trim and the metallic washi tape. I love how the black and white theme turned out.

The stamp itself is amazing. So much detail and shading with just one ink pad!  Its all in the way the stamp was made.  It almost looks totally flat when you first look at the rubber.  Its very clever.

Here's a video so you can see a few ways to use it:

Magical Mermaid

Hi friends! Long time between blog posts, I know.  New Year's Resolution - get back into blogging! ;-)

I have attempted to set up my blog and email provider so that when I post to this blog, it will be emailed out to those on my newsletter email list. Fingers crossed it works! Hopefully this will be the first blog post that will be email out - if you're reading this post because you received it via email, please leave me a comment to let me know :-)

I shared this photo on my Facebook page but I know there are many of you who are not "on Facebook" so I hope you enjoy this post.

I made this Mermaid card recently for my friend's daughter's birthday. I really enjoyed making this card - I love heat embossing and I love mermaids! :-)

The Foil Frenzy Designer Paper gives plenty of shine and the heat embossing also adds some more shine.

Here's a close up to try to show you that shine a little better:

To create the copper doily, I patted my versamark ink pad all over the white doily, then covered it it Copper embossing powder and heated it until it melted.  I had to repeat the process in a couple of spots to get a nice, even coverage.  I love the way it turned out!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my mermaid card and I look forward to sharing lots more creations with you this year.

Love Bec.
