Simply Sparkling Bundle in Parakeet Party

Parakeet Party - wow what a BRIGHT colour!

Each week I try to think of what stamp or bundle do I have that would suit the monochromatic theme that week. This time Parakeet Party made me think of limes - it's not exactly the colour of a lime but I think it works for this card.

I added some Old Olive as a darker tone for the layered piece, the leaves on the lime, and the stamped words.

The bubbly background is Parakeet Party ink on Parakeet Party card stock.

The soft drink can is made from the Holographic Specialty Paper and a sheet of paper from the Bright & Beautiful 6x6 paper.

This is such a fun bundle to work with! Hope you enjoyed seeing this card.

Orchid Oasis - Sentimental Park

Orchid Oasis - such a pretty colour - sort of blue, sort of purple...it can work either way.

For this monochromatic card I've paired it with a touch of Starry Sky (a darker purplish blue) and used the Sentimental Park bundle.

I stamped the background flowers with Orchid Oasis ink on the Orchid Oasis card base.

The feature flowers are stamped with the two-step stamping technique. Stamp the outline in full strength Orchid Oasis ink onto White card stock, then stamp the solid part after "stamping off" once to create a lighter shade.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white powder, then die cut.

Galentine's cards with the Bee My Valentine Bundle

I had so much fun making lots of cards for "Galentine's Day"! Have you heard of it? It's the day before Valentine's Day and the idea is to celebrate your female friendships, not just your significant other.

Some of my Winged Stampers team members signed up to do a Galantine's Day card for each other and then I decided to send all the participants a card, not just my assigned person. My assigned person will receive the special fun-fold card and then everyone else will receive a fun card as well.

The Bee My Valentine stamp set and punch was perfect for this project. I was able to omit the "V" from the Happy Valentine's Day stamp and then hand write in a letter "G" instead!  So cute!

Pebbled Path - In The Moment

It's Pebbled Path's turn for the Monochromatic look.

This time I've used the In The Moment stamp set and the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder.

I stamped the image with Pebbled Path ink onto Pebbled Path card stock for that tone-on-tone look.

White pencil from the watercolour pencils is a great way to add some highlights. I roughly coloured the parts of the image which I thought were the "relaxation" elements - the book, pillows, socks, cup of tea and the dog.

To continue the white highlighting theme on the embossed background, I brushed on some White craft ink using a blending brush. If you do this lightly, with a gentle touch, the white ink will just touch the raised portions of the embossed background and help them stand out.

A few white dots to add a finishing touch.

I rather like how this turned out - a fun technique to try on your own projects.
