Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to post a quick message to say that we have a new addition to our little family.

Baby Owen Benjamin Ross was born on Monday the 28th April weighing 8 pounds 10 and a half ounces, 52cm long.

He looks very similar to his big brother when he was born but is a bit smaller and his hair is lighter in colour.

We're very in love with him and he's been a wonderful baby so far! He had to put up with being under the phototherapy lights for 4 days and is still a bit jaundiced but we are glad to be home and trying to settle into life as a family of 4.

Convention 2008

Wow, what a big event! The Stampin' Up! Convention was held over 2 days (11t and 12th April) and it was packed full of information and fun.

I've got lots to share with you about Convention but I don't have all my photographs sorted out just yet.

To start with, I'll just share some group photos with you.

The Paper Angels Group (hope you don't mind me posting your photos girls!)  These photos were taken at the end of the Awards Night Dinner.  We had a lovely time and 3 of the ladies in our group won awards.  In fact, our lovely leader Liz, won SEVERAL awards and is among the top 25 demonstrators in Australia - well done Liz!!!  Well done to Kathy and Helen also.

Orrell and I.  Orrell only joined Stampin' Up! in February so Convention was hopefully a great experience for her to have so early on.  Thanks for being there with me Rel!

Liz and I.  Liz is a wonderful team leader and we all enjoyed ourselves at Convention.

The Retiring List

Stampin' Up's Retiring List is out now.  The list contains the names of all the stamp sets and accessories that will not be appearing in the new Idea Book & Catalogue on the 1st of April.  To see the list click HERE.

Door Prize Tin

I finally got around to decorating a tin that I can take to my workshops to put the door prize entry forms in.  I was forever asking hostesses if I could have a bowl to draw the forms out of but now I have my very own tin!

I simply used a 12x12 sheet of Designer Series paper (in this case its the Polka Dots and Petal one from the Spring Mini) and some matching ribbon (Turquoise grosgrain) and wrapped them around a baby formula tin.  I used Sticky Strip to adhere the paper and ribbon to the tin.

I think I could probably do more to decorate it and if I do I will post an updated pic here on the blog.

Open stamping night full

Cards That Move

I've been working on some groovy cards for my Cards That Move class on the 25th August. One of them has already been posted here on the blog and that one was made at a Paper Angels meeting (taught by Liz) a couple of months ago. The other 2 I've been working on are a Spinner Card and a Double Slider card. Gee I'm Slack!

Sorry about the lack of updates this week. I've been flat out with all things stamping. For four days this week I have been at my local Curves teaching people how to stamp a bookmark with the ladies contributing $2 each towards breast cancer research. That has been keeping me very busy! A big thanks to Fiona and the girls at Curves for allowing me to do that.
I know I promised some instructions for the faux metal technique and I'll get onto that ASAP. I just have a little bit more work to do first on my swap cards. I've entered a 10 person swap with some other demonstrators from around Australia. The idea is we use products from the new mini catalogue so that we all have a variety to show our customers. Mine are almost done so I'll post a pic soon.
Open stamping night was last night and we had a lovely time working on our projects. Mainly cards but one keen scrapper, my friend Monica, got lots of stamping done for the titles in her album. I'm sure it certainly saved her a lot of money to stamp rather than purchase alphabet stickers and rub ons!

Hostess Night a Hit!

It seems like everyone enjoyed themselves last night at the hostess appreciation evening. I certainly did anyway!



This photo shows the 2 projects we made. The pink bookmark uses Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery cardstock and ink and the Artfully Asian stamp set. The other card uses the Faux Metal technique (which I will be posting instructions for later this week). The colours are Ruby Red, Old Olive and Marigold Morning. The slit punch was used to create the scalloped edge.




This photo shows the little goodie bag the hostesses received as a thank you from me. Hmmm...now I have to think up what to give my NEXT lot of hostesses!

Hostess Night tonight!!!

Here is a sneak peek from the Hostess Appreciation workshop happening tonight. I'll post the rest of the pictures tomorrow - I don't want to spoil it for any blog stalkers who might be coming tonight! I'll be showing off my new watercolour crayons tonight as the July special is 25% off watercolour crayons when you spend $50. What a good deal!

Feeling Crummy...

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't updated the blog with any pics yet. I've not been feeling well at all today and on top of that have been busy with visitors all day. I've also been busy with preparing for the Hostess Appreciation night which is tomorrow. I still have a few more things to do for that. Then I need to put my head down and get some thank-you cards done for my birthday gifts. So much stamping to do and so little time!

Open Stamping Nights

Last night I had my first "Open Stamping Night" at my house. It was great fun! I got some new stamp sets put together, as did my neighbour Kristy. I also got a card made for my brother-in-law's engagement. Just need to take a photo of that to post on the blog. Most of the ladies used their time to madly stamp heaps and heaps of images from my stamp sets in all the colours they wanted. Now they have pages of images to cut out at home and use on cards. I will hold these Open Stamp Nights once a month and the next one will be on the 20th of July. Cost is $5 which gives you access to all my stamp sets, ink pads, markers, chalks, punches and other tools of the trade. Just bring some cardstock to stamp on and any other consumables you need to complete you projects. You may use it as a chance to stamp lots of images OR use it as time to work on projects with a wide array of tools at your fingertips that you may not have access to at home.

Door Prizes

I like to have door prizes at my workshops and here is an example of one. You could win one of these if you host or attend one of my workshops! I have plenty of dates free in July and still have a few left this month if you'd like to book a workshop.

Scrapbook & Papercraft Convention & Expo

On Saturday I went to the Scrapbook & Papercraft Convention & Expo at the Convention Centre. I didn't buy TOO much but managed to spend a little bit of money! I bought a Versamark Pen which I think will be really nifty. I also bought some storage for my ribbons to keep them neat and tidy. Now I just need to mount it on the wall. I also bought a nice tin that I will decorate with Designer papers and ribbons etc. It is just the right size to keep cards in. I'll post a picture of it when I'm done. There were lots of lovely things there. Check it out if you have time. It's on until Monday the 11th.

Simple Layouts Class

I still have plenty of spaces availbale for my Simple Layouts Class so I am extending the RSVP date to Wednesday the 6th of June. Here are the details of the class:

Description: Come along and learn to make 4 simple but effective cards using a variety of products and techniques including punches, Designer Series paper, 2-step stamping and distressing.
Date: Sunday 10th June
Time: 10am
Cost: $10 per person
Please bring adhesive such as glue stick or double-sided tape.
RSVP and payment by 6th June

Mini Explosion Album

On Saturday June 2nd I will be holding a class where we will make a little fold out album. The class is $5 and I still have a number of spots available. If you would like to attend please let me know ASAP so I can make sure I have enough materials ready.
